Domestic or Foreign Tablets
Many of us have not considered purchasing anything from overseas. But, we Americans are the first to say "It's made in China" or something similar to that.
When I started looking for my first tablet I couldn't find anything in the USA that offered everything I needed and wanted.
iPAD did offer the screen but I don't use apple products and I'm not purchasing a MAC to develop programs for the iOS. So that made Android and Windows OS the only options.
When I looked at the hardware offered for Android and Windows all my keyword search results ended up to be related to a processor called AllWinnner A31 and A31s. From that I searched tablet manufacturers and found my Onda v972 last December in presale and had one in my hands the first month of 2013.
You may have also found the same tablet or maybe you're using a Nexus 7 or 10 or maybe you have that Asus or Lenovo that was sold in all the local stores. I have to admit, I'm glad I waited for my Chinese tablet to arrive.
The question: "Do I buy in country domestic or use the global market place and order from overseas?"
The answer: YES, find what you want then find who is building it, then find a good trusted reseller and order it.
If the Onda was called Ondasy and sold out of Russia I would have ordered it. It's the technical datasheets that sell tablets today not the summary description.
I'll help those looking for a new tablet if you send me the actual specifications you need to cover. Don't tell me what applications you want to run, I'm interested in only the hardware specifications you need.
If you are a developer of apps and would like to have your apps tested and offered outside the apps store I am building a new site for freelancers that have been tested.
