From my first impression this is going to be a fun 7" (inch) tablet to have on the table and around the room.
I use a 9.7 Onda v972 V1 for work and really like the fact I don't need to put my glasses on just to read the screen all the time.
This 7" isn't going to offer that to me

  • v4.4.0 v1
    • OS: Android 4.4.0 (KitKat) I believe it is BETA
    • Tablet: Onda v701s v1
    • Release date: 12-30-2013
    • Phoenix Suit Packet: V1.0.8
  • v3.3.2 v1
    • OS: Android 4.2.2
    • Tablet: Onda v701s v1
    • Release date: 12-30-2013
    • Phoenix Suit Packet: V1.0.8
  • v3.3.1 v1
  • v3.2.1 v1

Be sure to have Phoenix Suit Version 1.08 By default it comes with the ROM download.

Here's what I found out of the box.

  1. V701s Core4 AllWinner A31s
  2. Android version 4.2.2 (without the Onda Desktop)
  3. Firmware version V3.2.5_V1 (Will update to 3.3.1 in a few minutes)
  4. Kernel version 3.3.0 huangzhihua@SRV2013#1 Wed Sep 4 06:16:12 UTC 2013
  5. Build number fiber_ondam704q5-eng 4.2.2 JDQ39 20130824 test-keys
  6. SPEMall.Com WiFi was installed so they set it to English and tested it before shipping.
  7. Airplane Mode or should I say Aeroplane mode which is how it shows in the Wireless section. I noticed this was with a ROM build when set to English (United Kingdom) switch the language to English (United States) and Aeroplane becomes Airplane.
  8. The QQ keyboard is active which I do disable.
  9. Shows Mouse and Track pad, will need to test that.
  10. Storage is 0.99Gb of internal (1Gb as listed in advertisements)
  11. Onda MID shows 4.11Gb (not 8Gb or 16Gb)
  12. Comes with 1 USB to Mini cable and no charger. But, SPEMall.com does ship a European charger with the proper adapter with the unit. It is a 2.0Amp output at 5vdc so it will run and charge the unit at the same time from my experience.

Overall I'm finding the tablet nice only becasue of it's size and weight.

I would choose a 9.7 any day but the weight of this tablet makes it great for the kitchen and when you need to leave something out for guests.

Look at the newest 2.0Ghz Onda v975m I will have one as soon as I select a new Chinese retailer. I'm also thinking this is going to be a big deal with battery life.
